Deal: Wenger Vieli advised the shareholders of Polariton on its acquisition by Marvell

Wenger Vieli advised the shareholders of Polariton, a Swiss developer of high-speed, low-power plasmonics-based silicon photonics devices and an ETH Zurich spin-off, on all Swiss legal and tax matters in connection with the sale of Polariton to Marvell Technology. Marvell is a leading provider of data infrastructure semiconductor solutions.

The transaction brings together complementary expertise in plasmonics, silicon photonics and high-speed optical modulation, supporting the development of highly integrated, scalable solutions for next-generation data center architectures. This is particularly significant as artificial intelligence workloads drive exponential growth in bandwidth demand, increasing the need for ultra-high-speed, energy-efficient optical connectivity solutions.

The team was co-led by Beat Speck (Partner, Corporate/M&A) and Dominik Rietiker (Senior Associate, Corporate/M&A) and included Michèle Joho-Menotti (Senior Associate, Corporate/M&A), Stefan Müller (Partner, Employment), Andrea Christen (Senior Associate, Notarial Services), Claudia Keller (Partner, IP/ICT), Jonas Bühlmann (Partner, Tax), Clara Bodemann (Partner, Tax/VAT), and Patrik Herger (Junior Lawyer).
